About the Herd

P7231702-2.jpg

Founded in 2020, LD Farms sits tucked into a quiet corner of Copper Canyon, Texas.

Our homestead was built on the idea that exceptional animals come from exceptional environments, and we have spent every year since creating a place where that philosophy can thrive. What began as a simple family farm has grown into a thoughtfully managed haven where our animals coexist with ease.

This natural harmony promotes confidence, gentleness, and social awareness in every member of our herd. While all of our animals benefit from this approach, it lends something truly special to our whippets. They experience the richness of farm life—open space, steady routines, and daily interaction with other animals—yet they live in our home and remain devoted family companions above all else.

Our whippets accompany us throughout the day, from morning chores to quiet evenings indoors, and their upbringing reflects that closeness. The result is a dog with poise, sensitivity, and a deeply people-focused temperament. As mindful whippet breeders, it's important to us that their early experiences here prepare them to transition smoothly into new homes, where they continue to exhibit the grace and affection the breed is known for.
